Роальд Даль народився 13-го вересня 1916-го року в Лландаффі, Кардіфф, Уельс (in Llandaff, Cardiff, Wales), в сім’ї норвезьких батьків, Харальда Даля (Harald Dahl) і Софії Магдалини Хессельберг (Sofie Magdalene Hesselberg). Своє ім’я майбутній письменник одержав у честь полярного дослідователя Роальда Амундсена (Roald Amundsen), національного героя Норвегії (Norway) того часу.

Трирічний Роальд в 1920-му позбувся своєї 7-річної сестри Астрі (Astri), яка померла від апендициту, а через кілька тижнів помер від пневмонії його 57-річний батько. LADA IN FEBRUARY: SALES GREW BY 19%

By results of February 2024, 27,888 LADA passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia, which is 33.9% higher vs. January 2024 and 19% higher vs. February 2023.LADA Vesta family has demonstrated the greatest increase in sales: 6,819 cars were sold in February 2024. This is 42.4% higher than in January 2024.Sales of LADA Granta in February amounted to 12,798 units, which is 33.9% higher than in January.NIVA Legend grew by 24.3% compared to last January and by 40.7% compared to February last year. LADA NIVA Travel has shown growth as well: plus 26.1% vs. January this year and plus 0.7% vs. February last year. In total, 3,904 NIVA Legend and 3,884 NIVA Travel SUVs were delivered to customers during the reporting period.LCV sales increased too: they amounted to 455 vehicles, which is 69.1% higher than last year’s results, and 78.4% higher than the results of January 2024.In just two months, 48,723 LADA cars were sold. This exceeds the brand’s performance in January-February last year by 19.1%.

AVTOVAZ TO RELEASE THE FIRST BATCH OF SERIAL LADA VESTA CARS WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

AVTOVAZ announced the start of serial production of LADA Vesta cars equipped with a new powertrain – an upgraded 1.8EVO engine (122 hp) and automatic transmission.New powertrain has passed a full cycle of laboratory and road tests, while electronic engine and transmission control systems have been specifically calibrated for LADA Vesta. To install AT, various vehicle systems were upgraded: fuel system, brakes; a new powertrain support was introduced.It is planned that AT will be installed on all Vesta family models: sedan, Cross sedan, SW and SW Cross.Prices, configurations and start dates for sales will be announced later.

LADA IZHEVSK LAUNCHED TEST ASSEMBLY OF LADA LARGUS PASSENGER VERSIONS

Lada Izhevsk car plant continues to produce a pilot batch of LADA Largus cars. In addition to vans, assembly of which began last week, Largus passenger versions have entered test production. It is worth reminding that it is planned to produce in total about 80 cars by May 2024, which will further be used to adjust full production cycle processes and train personnel.President of JSC AVTOVAZ Maxim Sokolov: “We see that Largus is in high demand in the market, and we are making every effort to restart serial production of internal combustion engine vehicles in May with appropriate level of quality and in required volumes.””As for another Izhevsk model, the first Russian highly localized electric vehicle e-Largus, we confirm plans to put it into production line in the third quarter of 2024. AVTOVAZ TO RETURN CRUISE CONTROL TO LADA VESTA

Enhancing the competitiveness of LADA brand and following the wishes of its customers, AVTOVAZ continues to return comfort and safety options to cars. Dealerships received the first lots of LADA Vesta cars equipped with a cruise control system, which increases the comfort and safety of country travel and daily city trips.The “Cruise Control” function is designed to automatically maintain a given vehicle speed without engaging the accelerator pedal by a driver. Together with this system, the “Speed Limiter” function works, designed to automatically limit the maximum permissible vehicle speed set by the driver.Cruise control is set using buttons on the steering wheel, with a tell-tale of the activated function displayed on the instrument cluster.
